RANGPUR, Feb 22, 2022 (BSS) - Police arrested two alleged drug traders with 21 kilograms (kgs) of ganja from a stone-laden truck at Dharla Bridge point in Kurigram town on Monday midnight.

     "Acting on a tip off, a police team conducted a raid there, seized the contraband ganja from the cabin of the truck and arrested the two men red-handed from the spot," Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kurigram Sadar police station Khan Md. Shahriar told reporters.

     The arrested were driver of the truck Sohel Mian, 38, and its helper Sabuz Mian, 35, of Bhatara area in Sarishabari upazila of Jamalpur district.

     "After filing a case against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act 2018 with Kurigram Sadar police station, police produced them before a Kurigram court from where they were sent to jail hajat this afternoon," the OC added.
