CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Feb 24, 2022 (BSS) - Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today arrested an alleged gold smuggler with 70-bhori gold from Godagari in Rajshahi district.

  The arrested person is Md. Moktar Hossain, 40, of Char Raninagar Bakchar village under Chapainawabganj sadar upazila.

  BGB said, being informed, a patrol team of BGB 53 battalion from Godagari border out post conducted a raid in Hatpara Ghat area under Godagari municipality in Rajshahi district at 8.15am and arrested Moktar with seven gold bars weighing 70-bhori.

  The arrested person was handed over to the police of Godagari thana with a case and the deposition of the gold with the government treasuery was on the process, the sources added.
