GAIBANDHA, Feb 25, 2022 (BSS)- A newly constructed building for BMDA
(Barind Multiporpose Development Authority) zonal office was inaugurated in
Gobindaganj upazila town of the district today amid much enthusiasm.
Local lawmaker Monwar Hossain Chowdhury, member of the Parliamentary
Standing Committee on Ministry of Housing and Public Works, formally
inaugurated the building namely 'Barendra bhaban' through unveiling a plaque
as the chief guest while Upazila Chairman Abdul Latif Prodhan spoke at the
event as special guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Arif Hossain in the
chair.
Mayor of Gobindaganj Municipality Mukitur Rahman Rafi, Upazila Agriculture
Officer Syed Reza-E- Mahmud, Upazila Engineer of LGED Abdul Latif, Officer-
in-Charge (OC) of Gobindaganj Thana Izar Uddin, Political Coordinator of the
lawmaker Abdullah Al-Hasan Chowdhury Liton, Upazila Project Implementation
Officer Jahirul Islam and Assistant Engineer of BMDA Tarique Aziz addressed
the function, among others.
Monwar Hossain said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has
been constructing office buildings across the country for the concerned
officials and staff so that they can provide services to the common people in
improved environment.
He also urged the officials and employees of BMDA to be more serious and
dedicated to ensure the departmental services to the people of the upazila
without any hassle.
The building was constructed at a cost of Taka 87 lakh provided by the
government, said Executive engineer of BMDA Md. Shafiqul Islam.
A large number of people including upazila level officials, political
leaders, local elite were present on the occasion.
