RAJSHAHI, Mar 1, 2022 (BSS) - Thirty-five more people have tested
positive for Covid-19 in the division on Monday, taking the caseload to
1,18,917 since the pandemic began in March, 2020.
The new positive cases are showing a little bit of a rising trend
compared to the previous day's figure of 25, said Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder,
divisional director of Health.
While two new fatalities were reported during the past 24 hours, the
death toll reached 1,747, including 705 in Bogura, 341 in Rajshahi with 219
in its city and 179 in Natore, Dr Talukder added.
Meanwhile, the recovery count rose to 1,14,143 in the division after 288
patients were discharged from the hospitals on the same day.
Besides, all the positive cases of the lethal virus have, so far, been
brought under necessary treatment while 25,987 were kept in isolation units
of different dedicated hospitals for institutional quarantine. Of them,
22,855 have been released by now.
A total of 37 more people have been sent to home and institutional
quarantine afresh while 95 others were released from isolation during the
same time.
Of the 35 new cases, 16 were detected in Pabna, followed by eight in
Sirajganj, four in Rajshahi, including three in its city, three in Bogura,
two in Natore and one each in Chapainawabganj and Naogaon districts.
With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the
total cases now stands at 33,892 in Rajshahi, including 27,888 in its city,
6,512 in Chapainawabganj, 7,699 in Naogaon, 9,847 in Natore, 5,655 in
Joypurhat, 24,897 in Bogura, 13,706 in Sirajganj and 16,709 in Pabna.
A total of 1,24,734 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine
since March 10, 2020 to prevent the community transmission of the deadly
virus.
Of them, 1,22,890 have, by now, been released as they were given
clearance certificates after completing their quarantine period.
