RANGPUR, Mar 1, 2022 (BSS) - The Police Memorial Day- 2022 was observed

here today paying rich tribute to the martyred policemen, who sacrificed
their lives while discharging their duties to maintain law and order across
the country.

   High-ranking police officials placed wreaths at the Central Police
Memorial on the Rangpur Police Lines premises in the morning paying rich
tributes to the martyred members of Bangladesh Police Forces.

   A guard of honor was given in memory of the police personnel who
sacrificed their lives while on duty and a one minute silence was observed
and prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the soul.

   Later, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range of Bangladesh
Police Devdas Bhattacharya attended a memorial discussion arranged by the
District Police at Rangpur Police Lines School and College auditorium with
Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Ferdous Ali Chowdhury in the chair.

   Police Commissioner of Rangpur Metropolitan Police Mohd Abdul Alim Mahmud,
Commandant of Rangpur Police Training Centre and DIG Basudeb Banik,
Commanding Officer of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 Reza Ahmmed Ferdous
were present as special guests.

   At the beginning of the discussion, members of the families of the police
personnel who sacrificed their lives while on duty gave speeches in memory of
the police personnel who sacrificed their lives.

   The chief guest and special guests handed over the gifts given by the
Inspector General of Bangladesh Police to the families of the police
personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

   Commemorating the martyred police personnel, the speakers said Bangladesh
Police will remain ever grateful to the policemen who sacrificed their lives
while discharging their duties to maintain law and order.

   The chief guest recalled the contribution of the martyred policemen with
due respect and said the police force will remember forever with profound
respect the supreme sacrifices of the policemen for giving away their lives
for maintaining law and order.
