RANGPUR, March 5, 2022 (BSSS) - Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Whip Iqbalur Rahim MP has
said the people of all communities are living in peace in Bangladesh as the
country is being run on the ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
He was speaking at the inaugural function of the 187th birth anniversary of
Lord Shri Ramakrishna and a two-day annual festival organized by Dinajpur
Ramakrishna Ashram and Ramakrishna Mission in Dinajpur town as the chief
guest on Friday.
Iqbalur Rahim said people irrespective of their religion, caste and creeds,
including Santan Hindu community, are working in high positions in the
administration which was absent during the tenure of other previous
governments.
"Although people like Gayeshwar Roy were in state power, they did not protect
the interests of people of the Santan Hindu community," he said.
He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu dreamed of building a prosperous
Bangladesh irrespective of religions, castes and creeds and Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina is working with people of all religions to realize that dream.
"People of all religions should be respected. The present government has
ensured equal rights for all people in our country and they are observing own
religious festivals without any hindrance," the whip said.
He urged everyone to work in the service of humanity, following Sri
Ramakrishna's ideals.
"Everyone should come forward in the service of humanity," he added.
Dinajpur Ramakrishna Ashram and Mission Principal Swami Bibhatmananda
presided over the function.
