Rangpur Div records lowest 0.35pc Covid-19 positivity today

RANGPUR, Mar 7, 2022 (BSS)-The Rangpur division today recorded the lowest 0.35 percent Covid-19 positivity rate during last two months as only one fresh case was diagnosed after testing 282 samples at two laboratories here.  

 

Health officials said the Covid-19 pandemic situation is improving rapidly as the number of positive cases is decreasing daily amid declining positivity rate during last two weeks.
 

Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 2.71 percent on Sunday, 3.27 percent on Saturday, 0.65 percent on Friday, 2.06 percent on Thursday, 3.31 percent on Wednesday and 4.76 percent on Tuesday last in the division.
 

“None was diagnosed positive after testing 94 samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) today,” said Principal of RpMC Prof. Dr Bimal Chandra Roy.  
 

The only new patient was reported positive after testing 188 samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in Dinajpur at the 0.53 percent positivity rate today.  
 

"The single new patient is hailed from Dinajpur district," said Principal of MARMC Prof. Dr Syed Nazir Hossain.  
 
Divisional Director of the Health Department Dr Abu Md Zakirul Islam told the national news agency BSS that the total number of Covid-19 patients reached 64,094 as one new positive case was reported today from across the division.  
 

“The district-wise breakup of the total 64,093 patients include 14,952 in Rangpur, 4,415 in Panchagarh, 5,475 in Nilphamari, 3,278 in Lalmonirhat, 4,980 in Kurigram, 8,578 in Thakurgaon, 16,910 in Dinajpur and 5,506 in Gaibandha in the division,” he added.
