JASHORE, March 7, 2022 (BSS) - A  total of 137,439 families of the district
will get essential food items at subsidised rates on the occasion of the
upcoming Ramadan.

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will supply food items to
beneficiaries listed in two phases through deputy commissioner (DC), upazila
nirbahi officers (UNO), union level, ward members and councilors in
municipalities.

The TCB will allocate 2 packets for each family. Each packet will contain 8
kg of daily necessities food item including 2 liters of soybean oil, 2 kg of
lentils, 2 kg of sugar and 2 kg of gram.

The Trading Corporation will supply oil at the rate Tk 110, pulses at Tk 65
and sugar at Tk 55 per kg.

Walid-bin-Habib, assistant director of Directorate of National Consumer
Rights Protection (DNCRP) in Jashore, said the products will be delivered in
one phase between March 15 and 20 and in another phase in the first week of
Ramadan.

These food items will be supplied through 73 dealers in the district.
