GOPALGANJ, March 9, 2022 (BSS) - A day-long colorful Pitha Utsab (cake festival) was held on the premises of SM Model Government Primary School in the town today on the occasion of spring (Basanta).

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shahida Sultana inaugurated the festival as the chief guest this morning with President of the School Management Committee Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Mitu in the chair.

District Primary Education Officer Anand Kishore Saha, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Mosamat Nazmunnahar, Assistant District Primary Education Officer Sukumar Mitra, School Headmaster Suraiya Khanam, among others, were present on the occasion.

The visitors had opportunity to have taste of traditional pitha like Chitai, Bhapa and Pati Sapta.

Later, students of the institution presented a colourful cultural function.
