Covid-19 recovery rate reaches 97.87pc in Rangpur div

   RANGPUR, March 26, 2022 (BSS) - The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients

currently stands at 97.87 percent in Rangpur division where the pandemic
situation continues improving during the last five weeks.

Health officials said the number of recovered Covid-19 patients reached
62,760 with the healing of four more people during the last 24 hours ending
at 8 am today.

"The average recovery rate of Covid-19 patients currently stands at 97.87
percent," Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS
today.

The 62,760 recovered patients include 14,656 of Rangpur, 4,325 of Panchagarh,
5,377 of Nilphamari, 3,205 of Lalmonirhat, 4,900 of Kurigram, 8,322 of
Thakurgaon, 16,535 of Dinajpur and 5,440 of Gaibandha districts in the
division.

Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 cases remained steady at 64,123 as no test
of new samples was conducted on Friday in the division.

The district-wise break up of total 64,123 patients include 14,959 of
Rangpur, 4,418 Panchagarh, 5,475 of Nilphamari, 3,281 of Lalmonirhat, 4,982
of Kurigram, 8,582 of Thakurgaon, 16,918 of Dinajpur and 5,508 of Gaibandha
in the division.
 
Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 3,41,317 collected samples
have been tested so far, and of them, 64,123 were found positive with an
average positivity rate of 18.79 percent.

On the other hand, the total number of casualties remained steady at 1,283 as
no new death was reported during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today.   

The district-wise breakup of the 1,283 fatalities stands at 300 Rangpur, 84
in Panchagarh, 92 in Nilphamari, 74in Lalmonirhat, 69 in Kurigram, 259 in
Thakurgaon, 340 in Dinajpur and 65 in Gaibandha.

The average casualty rate currently stands at two percent in the division.

Among total 64,123 Covid-19 patients, 19 are undergoing treatments, including
four patients at ICU and six at High Dependency Unit beds, after recovery of
62,760 patients and 1,283 deaths while 61 are remaining in home isolation.
 
"Meanwhile, the number of citizens who got the first dose of the Covid-19
vaccine rose to 1,33,76,105 and among them, 1,01,42,605 got the second dose
and 7,45,006 got the booster dose of the jabs till Friday in the division,"
Dr Islam said.

Principal of Rangpur Medical College Professor Dr Bimal Chandra Roy called
upon everyone to continue to abide by the health directives despite the
improving pandemic situation.
