RANGPUR, March 27, 2022 (BSS) - Academics and researchers at a discussion
said "The Unfinished Memoirs of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman" is a crystal-clear history and instructive for the
country's students and teachers.
They viewed this at the discussion followed by prize distribution at Begum
Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) while celebrating the 52nd Independence
and National Day-2022 on Saturday night.
Vice-chancellor (VC) of BRUR Professor Dr. Md. Hasibur Rashid attended the
function as the chief guest with Convener of the Independence and National Day
Celebration Committee Md. Shariful Islam in the chair.
Pro Vice-chancellor of BRUR Prof Dr. Sarifa Salowa Dina addressed it as special
guest.
Former VC of Islamic University, Kushtia Prof Dr. Rashid Askari and
Ekushey award-winning researcher Advocate S M Abraham Lincoln spoke as
discussants.
Registrar of BRUR Engineer Mohammad Alamgir Chowdhury and President of BRUR
unit of Bangabandhu Parishad Kamlesh Chandra Roy also spoke.
Moderated by Assistant Prof of the Department of Accounting and Information
Systems Md. Ashanuzzaman, General Secretary of Begum Rokeya University
Teachers' Association Anwarul Azim delivered welcome speech at the event.
Advocate Lincoln termed the unfinished memoirs of Bangabandhu as the
crystal-clear document of national history and politics and instructive to
all students and teachers.
"Reading of the completely clear historical document again and again is
a vital to know the glorious national movements, struggles and history of the
country's establishment," he said.
Prof Askari said, "We have to build the future Bangladesh following the
ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the
spirit of the Great War of Liberation."
For this, he especially suggested the young generations to practice modern
knowledge, science and technologies alongside nurturing the true national
history.
Prof Dina said the new generations should know accurate history of the War of
Liberation and take the country ahead with the ideology of Bangabandhu and
spirit of the War of Liberation.
The chief guest said process of setting up the Faculty of Law and Faculty of
Engineering is progressing at BRUR to assist the students in acquiring the
capacity to meet challenges of the fourth Industrial Revolution for building
a developed Bangladesh.
Later, the guests unveiled the cover of the memoir 'Subarnapath' published
by BRUR marking the Independence and National Day- 2022 and enjoyed a
colorful cultural programme and fireworks.
Earlier, the Independence and National Day-2022 was celebrated through
daylong programmes on the BRUR campus in a befitting manner.
