GAIBANDHA, April 16, 2022 (BSS) - As many as 150 families of Horipur union under Sundarganj upazila of the district, who lost their homesteads and arable lands due to the Teesta river erosion, got 150 bundle of Corrugated Iron (CI) sheet and cash support of Taka 4.50 lakh from the government on Friday.
Local lawmaker Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary distributed the CI sheet and cash support to the beneficiaries at a function held at Lakhiapara village as the chief guest. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Al- Maruf presided over the function.
Speaking at the function Barrister Patwary said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is much cordial to minimize the sorrows and sufferings of the river eroded people.
Each of the beneficiaries received a bundle of CI Sheet and cash support of Taka 3,000.
Upazila project implementation officer Md. Walif Mondal, UP Chairman Nafiul Islam Jimi, local elite and political leaders were present on the occasion.
