RANGPUR, April 18, 2022 (BSS) - A meeting of the Divisional Anti-smuggling Regional Task Force Committee was held at the conference room of the Divisional Commissioner in the city today.

Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdul Wahhab Bhuiyan presided over the meeting. 

Deputy Inspector General for Rangpur Range Police Devdas Bhattacharya, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohd Abdul Alim Mahmud, Rangpur Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam, Commanding Officer of RAB-13 Reza Ahmmed Ferdous and all eight Deputy Commissioners of Rangpur division were present.

Besides, Rangpur Sector Commander of Border Guard Bangladesh, Intelligence Offices, Commissioner of Rangpur Divisional Customs Excise and VAT Commissionerate, Divisional Director of the Department of Social Services, Director of Rangpur Range of Ansar-VDP and other senior officials attended the meeting. 

The meeting approved minutes of the last meeting and discussed progress of the meetings of the committee at the district and upazila levels and anti-smuggling drives and mobile courts against drugs conducted at the district and upazila levels.

Besides, the meeting discussed the progress of the anti-smuggling cases, searching trains to prevent smuggling of contraband goods and other miscellaneous issues.
