409 landless families get houses in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, April 26, 2022 9BSS)- A total of 409 landless and homeless families of the district received houses today as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's Eid gift ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr in the district.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina handed over the houses among the beneficiaries at 11am through video conferencing as part of countrywide programme. The houses were distributed under Ashrayan project to fulfill the commitment of the prime minister no one will remain homeless.

Each of the semi pucca house with corrugated iron sheets on roofs, two bedrooms, one kitchen, one hygienic sanitary latrine, one utility space and veranda.

On the direction of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, deputy commissioner Dr Faruque Ahmed handed over the land deeds and documents of the house at around 11 am, function held at Khokashabari Ashrayan project in the district.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Faruque Ahmed presided over the function.

Member of Parliament from different constituencies of the district, divisional commissioner, police super, government officials, among others were virtually joined on the function.

The DC said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has set a unique example at home and abroad by giving houses among the landless and homeless families.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had a commitment that, no one would remain homeless. According to her commitment, the houses were constructed on khas land and distributing among the landless and homeless people for their sheltering.

He said it's a rare initiative of Prime Minister through which landless and homeless families have changed their life style and livelihood.

He also said, that Bangladesh now a role model of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The beneficiaries are very happy and expressed greetings to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
