CHATTOGRAM, June 9, 2021 (BSS)- Over 13.5 lakh babies aged 6-59 months will be administered vitamin 'A' Plus capsules from June 12 to June 15 to prevent all types of diseases including measles, diarrhea and night blindness.

The campaign will begin from 8am and continue uninterruptedly till 4 pm on National Vitamin 'A' plus campaign-21 in the city and district without government holydays.
 
This was disclosed at separate press conferences by Civil Surgeon Dr Ilias Chowdhury and Chief Medical Officer of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Dr. Selim Akhter Chowdhury held at their respective offices on Thursday.
 
Civil surgeon office is to feed vitamin 'A' Plus capsules to eight lakh 21 thousand 313 while over five lakh 36 thousand babied to be feed vitamin 'A' Plus capsules by CCC.

Over 500 supervisors including Commissioners of 41 wards in CCC and 859 supervisors in the 14 upazilas of the district will supervise the 'A' Plus campaign.

A total of 4,861 temporary vaccination centers will be set up by Civil Surgeon office. CCC will set up 1,288 temporary centers in 41 wards to carry out the program.

Over 20,000 volunteers and health workers including 4,848 by CCC would be engaged for giving vitamin 'A' Plus capsules to the children aged from 6 months to 5 years.
