SYLHET, June 18, 2022 (BSS) - Bangladesh Chhatra League Sylhet district unit leader Titu Chowdhury has been electrocuted while switching off electric line of his Kharadipara residence in the city in the wake of flood situation.

Officer-in-charge of Shahparan Thana under Sylhet Metropolitan Police Anisur Rahman confirmed it to BSS.

Titu took all of the ground floor residents to his residence on the 1st floor and later he suffered an electric shock when he went to ground floor to switch off the electric line of the house at around 11 am today, he said.

Rahman said Titu was rushed to Sylhet Women's Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Chhatra League Sylhet district unit President Nazmul Islam said Titu was actively involved with Chhatra League district and MC College units for long. As the full-fledged committee of district unit of Chhatra League is yet to be announced, Titu was not in any post.  
 
He will be buried tonight, he said.

Titu's village home is in Dirai upazila of Sunamganj district.
