400 flood victims get relief in Gaibandha

 GAIBANDHA, June 22, 2022 (BSS) - As many as 400 flood and river erosion victims of Kunderpara char and its surrounding areas under Kamarjani union of Sadar upazila got relief materials on Tuesday.
 
Kamarjani union parishad chairman Md. Matiar Rahman said with the rise of water level of the Brahmaputra river, chars and river basin areas of the union have been flooded and the people living on areas have also been marooned creating untold sufferings.
 
Many of the char people took shelter on Kundrpara Flood shelter with their belongings including domestic animals and poultry birds but the flood shelter went under flood water resulting their sorrows and sufferings increased more, he also said.
 
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md. Oliur Rahman distributed the rice and dry food among the flood victims.
 
Speaking on the occasion DC said sufficient relief is in stock of the government's warehouse, there is no reason to be worried about relief materials.
 
Sadar UNO Md. Shariful Alam, upazila project implementation officer Anisur Rahman, union parishad chairman Matiar Rahman accompanied the DC during the relief distribution activity.
