MYMENSINGH, June 23, 2022 (BSS)-The 73rd founding anniversary of Bangladesh Awami League was observed here today with a call for building Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The day was observed with various programmes including hoisting of national and party flags, placing of wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu, observed one minute silence, offering of special prayers and brining out of colourful rallies and holding discussion.

Marking the anniversary, district Awami League arranged a function at the Town Hall premises at 11am. President of the district Awami League Advocate Jahirul Haque along with party leaders and activists hoisted national and party flags and paid homage to Bangabandhu by placing wreath at his (Bangabndhu’s) portrait.

Later, one minute silence was observed as a mark of profound respect to Bangabandhu and his family members, four national leaders and other late Awami league leaders.

A Munajat was held seeking blessings and eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and four national leaders and late party leaders.

Vice President of district AL Aminul Haque Shamim, Advocate Badar Uddin Ahamed, Advocate Kabir Uddin Bhuiyan, Momtaz Uddin Monta, Joint Secretary of the district Awami League MA Quddus, Joint Convener of the Jubo league Swakat Jahan, President of district Krisak League Golam Mustafa, President of Bangladesh Chhatra League Al Amin and leaders and activists of different front organisations were present.

In observance the day, the District and City Awami league brought out separate colourful rallies in city’s main streets this evening.

The rally of the district Awami League began from Gymnasium area led by President of district AL Advocate Jahirul Haque, Vice president Aminul Haque Shamim, Joint Secretary MA Quddus and Swakat Jahan.

The City Awami League brought out a rally from Krisna Chora
Chatter led by Mayor Ekramul Haque Tito, President and Secretary Ehtashemul Alam and Mohitur Rahman Shanta .
 
Besides in all 13 upazilas, AL observed the anniversary with such colourful programmes.
