KHULNA, July 8, 2022 (BSS) - Khulna City Corporation (KCC) has taken decision
to ensure safe removal of sacrificial animal waste within 10 hours which
starts from 2pm from the Eid day in the city as the city corporation has
adopted massive measures to this end.
This was revealed from a meeting held at the Shaheed Altaf Auditorium
recently with KCC mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque in the chair.
As part of the efforts, the KCC has fixed 142 spots for slaughtering
sacrificial animals on the Eid-ul-Azha in the city.
According to the Department of Garbage Management System of the KCC, around
1,000 labourers will be working for safe removal of sacrificial animal waste
within the stipulated time so that the city residents can see a neat and
clean environment within the shortest possible
time.
At least 70 transports including 40 trucks, garbage loader and pay loader
will remove garbage from 2pm and to be dumping those at Rajband Dumping
Station in the city that will be ended at 12am on the Eid night.
Md Abdul Aziz, chief of Department of Garbage System, urged the city dwellers
to slaughter the animals only in selected places for keeping the metropolis
along with its air and water free from pollution and other contamination.
"KCC have decided for hygienic slaughtering of animals for protecting the
public health from any sort of infectious disease including the lethal Covid-
19 virus," he said, adding that collective efforts of all quarters have
become a crucial issue to control the community level disease.
