Eid-ul-Azha celebrated in Ctg   

CHATTOGRAM; July 10, 2022 (BSS) - The holy Eid-ul-Azha,  the 2nd largest religious festival of the Muslims, is being celebrated today in a festive atmosphere with religious sentiments and solemnity in the port city as elsewhere in the district  amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Muslim devotees offered Eid prayers in mosques in the port city and the district. 

According to the Islamic Foundation and district administration instructions, hand sanitizers were made available at all the entrances points of every mosque. 

Meanwhile, a total of 264 Eid congregations including Jamiatul Falah Mosque were held in the port city under the auspices of Chattogram Central Eid Jamaat Committee (CCEJC) and Chattogram City Corporation ( CCC) respectively.

A large number of devotees participated in the Eid prayers maintaining social distance and prayed for divine blessing for the peace, prosperity and stability of the country as well as relieve from the Coronavirus. 

The authority had taken adequate security measures by deploying sufficient law enforcers at various strategic points in the city and district. 

Of the biggest three, one Eid congregation was held at Andarkilla Shahi Jame Mosque at 7 a.m organized by CCEJC and two others were held successively at Jamiatul Falah Mosque at 7 a.m and 8 a.m under the auspices of CCC. 

Other major Eid Congregations were held at Laldhighi Maidan, Chawkbazar Wali Khan Mosque, Masjeed-e-Baitus Sharf at Kadamtali, Pologround Railway Public High School Maidan, Shah Amanat Shah (Rh) Dargah Maidan, Metropolitan Police line Maidan, Agrabad Jamboree field, and Baizeed Bostami (Rh) Dargah Mosque, in between 7 a.m to 8 a.m.

Deputy minister for education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, former City Mayor AZM Nasir Uddin,  Divisional Commissioner Asharf Uddin, Jatiya Party presidium member President Solyman Alam Shet, among  others, elites and politicians offered prayers at Jamiatulfalah Mosque.  

According to reports reaching here from fourteen upazilas of the district, people in the rural areas are also celebrating Eid festival with enthusiasm.
