453 homeless families to get houses in Faridpur as PM’s gift

FARIDPUR, July 19, 2022 - (BSS) - A total of 453 landless and homeless families under nine upazilas of the district will get houses under the Asrayan project -2 as Prime Minister’s gift.

The abodes will be handed over to 26,299 families across the country after the virtual inauguration by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 21 July (Thursday).

Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur Atul Sarker said this at a press conference at his conference hall here this noon.

As part of the Asrayan Project-2, a total of 453 houses out of 1378 have been built in 3rd phase for landless families in nine upazila's of the district.

Earlier, a total of 2,035 families were given houses in the 1st phase as Prime Minister’s gift where as1,572 families were handed over houses in the 2nd phase and 696 homeless families were given keys and documents with two decimals of land each in the 3rd phase.

To fulfill the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibar Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina vowed in her last election manifesto that no one will remain homeless and landless in the country; the DC quoted the premier as saying.

“ It is a unique effort taken by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for which homeless people of the country become self reliant with their  own pride and honour”, Atul Sarker mentioned.

Deputy Director of the Local Government Division Aslam Molla, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) (general) Dipok Kumar Roy, Additional Deputy Magistrate (ADM) Taslima Ali, Faridpur Press Club President Kabirul Islam Siddique, among others, attended the function.
