NATORE, July 26, 2022 (BSS) - Nurul Islam Thandu and Mojibur Rahman were elected as the president and the general secretary respectively of the Bagatipara Upazila unit of Awami League (AL) today.

Bangladesh Awami League Presidium member and Mayor of Rajshahi City AHM Khairuzzaman Liton announced it at the second session of the triennial council of AL held on the premises of Bagatipara Government Pilot High School as the chief guest here.

Abdul Quddus became the organizing secretary in the new committee.

District unit of Awami League President Professor Abdul Quddus, MP, presided over the session.

Earlier, District unit of AL President Professor Abdul Quddus, MP, inaugurated the first session of the council with Upazila unit of AL Senior Vice President Professor Yunus Ali in the chair.

Bangladesh Awami League Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, AL Health and Population Affairs Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana, Executive Member Begum Akhtar Jahan, Lawmakers Md Shahidul Islam Bakul and Ratna Ahmed and District unit of AL General Secretary Md Shariful Islam Ramzan also spoke as special guests, on the occasion, among others.
