RANGPUR, Aug 2, 2022 (BSS) - The Department of National Consumer Rights
Protection (DNCRP) in an anti-adulteration drive fined the owner of a factory
Taka one-lakh for producing adulterated molasses in an unhygienic environment
on Monday afternoon.

 A team led by Assistant Director of the DNCRP at its Rangpur district office
Afsana Pervin with assistance of the RAB-13 personnel conducted the drive at
the factory located at Khalashpeer area in Pirganj upazila of the district.

 During the drive, the team found that owner of the factory Bakul Miah was
producing adulterated molasses by mixing cheetah molasses with semolina,
sugar, color and other ingredients in an unhygienic environment.

 Later, the team fined the factory owner Bakul Miah Taka one-lakh and
destroyed huge quantities of seized adulterated molasses and other raw
materials that were being used in producing adulterated molasses.

 Talking to local reporters on the spot, Afsana Pervin said similar anti-
adulteration operations would continue across the district in the future.
