RAJSHAHI, July 27, 2021 (BSS)- The 5Ist birthday of the father of the nation Bangabandhu's grandson and son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Sajeeb Wazed Joy was celebrated in Rajshahi city today in a befitting manner.

A birthday cake-cutting function was organized at Sheikh Russel Children Training and Rehabilitation Centre to mark the celebration.

Forest and Environment Affairs Sub-committee Member of Bangladesh Awami League Dr Anika Fariha Zaman, Lecturer in the Department of Crop Science and Technology in Rajshahi University Rezvi Ahmed Bhuiyan and Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services Dr Abdullah Al Firoj attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anika Zaman said Bangladesh achieved remarkable success in the field of ICT with millions of the country's youths earning money from home and competing with the whole world due to Joy's initiative.

She added that Joy, who is also dubbed as architect of Digital Bangladesh, is currently spearheading a campaign in developing young entrepreneurs by taking various programmes related to information technology, politics, social, economic and education.

A milad and doa mahfil was also organized there with maintaining health guidelines amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Subsequently, they distributed  food among over 100 distressed and poor  children at Rajshahi Railway Station.
