MUNSHIGANJ, Aug 25, 2022 (BSS) - Launch and speedboat services have resumed
on the Shimulia-Majhikandi route after a suspension of two months following
the inauguration of the multipurpose Padma Bridge.

Launch MV Ealitch left Shimulia Ghat for Majirkandi at around 10:15am and ML
Masud Khan left Majirkandi at around 9:45 am. However, the launches
experienced a shortage of passengers.

Assistant Director of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority Md Shahadat
Hossain said as many as 30 launches and 40 speedboats today started their
operation on the route.
