Sustainable social harmony stressed for national advancement

RANGPUR, Sept 18, 2022 (BSS) - Officials, public representatives and civil society members at a rally today stressed on maintaining sustainable social harmony and brotherhood for further accelerating national development.
 
They specially called upon local public representatives and guardians for making young generations aware of severe consequences of drug abuse, terrorism and militancy and properly guiding them to become patriotic citizens to serve the nation in the future.
 
Hariarkuthi Union Social Harmony Committee organized the social harmony rally for youths, public representatives, religious leaders, civil society members and common people at Hariarkuthi union parishad premises in Taraganj upazila of the district.
 
Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan attended the rally as the chief guest with Taraganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ms. Rasel Miah in the chair.
 
Hariarkuthi union parishad Chairman and President of Taraganj Upazila Unit of Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Parishad Kumaresh Roy delivered a welcome speech.
 
Superintendent of Police of Rangpur Md. Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, heroic freedom fighter Ali Hossain, Taraganj upazila parishad Chairman Anisur Rahman Litan, President of Taraganj upazila Awami League Atiar Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Taraganj Thana Shushanto Kumar Sarker, addressed as special guests.
 
The speakers discussed negative inspects of drug abuse and called upon young generations to abstain from drugs and remain alert against some vested quarters involved in misinterpreting Islam, the religion of peace.
 
The chief guest urged the participants, including youths, to work unitedly in launching a vigorous social movement against drug abuse, militancy and terrorism for ensuring sustainable peace in the society to further accelerate national development.
