RANGPUR, Sept 28, 2022 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a presumed cheat on charges of cheating common people by promising jobs from Keranipara area in Rangpur city last night.
 
"On the basis of an allegation lodged by a cheated man, an operational team of the Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) of RAB-13 arrested the fraudster from a house at Keranipara area of the city," said a press release issued here today.
 
The detainee was identified as Md. Asaduzzaman alias Rajon, 38, son of late Abu Bakar of village Taluk Kandi in Pirgachha upazila of Rangpur district.
 
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested man admitted that he had been cheating people promising jobs by realizing huge money from them for a long time.
 
"With assistance of the elite force, the victim filed a case against the arrested person with Pirgachha police station in this connection," the release said, adding that efforts were on to nab his other absconding cohorts.
