JASHORE, Sept 28, 2022 (BSS) - Members of Border Guard Bangladesh
in separate drives arrested two people with 19 gold bars
from Benapole Port Thana area in the district last night.
The detained were identified as Asha, 28, hailed from Benapole municipality area and Rahman Bishal, 27, a resident at Namaj village in the same upazila.
Commander of 49 BGB Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Shahed Minhaj Siddique said, being informed, they stopped a motorcycle around 10.30pm in Maliputa area. The motorcyclist left his bike and ran away. After searching the motorcycle, the BGB men found 18 pieces of gold bars weighing 2.1 kilograms, Shahed Minhaj Siddique added.
Besides, in another drive at Putkhali, BGB men seized a gold bar weighing 1.6kg. Asha and Rahman Bishal were held in the drive conducted around 11 pm, said Commander of 21 BGB battalion Mohammad Tanvir Rahman.
Two separate cases were filed.
