HABIGANJ, Nov 4, 2022 (BSS) - Bangladesh Constitution Day was observed today in the district as elsewhere across the country.

The Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh was adopted by the Constituent Assembly of Bangladesh on November 4, 1972 and came into effect on December 16 in the same year.

Marking the day, the district administration organized a discussion meeting in the conference room of the deputy commissioner's office this morning.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ishrat Jahan presided over the discussion.
 
Additional District Magistrate Sadikur Rahman, Senior Judicial Magistrate Zakir Hossain, District Awami League General Secretary Advocate Alamgir Chowdhury, District Advocate Association General Secretary Advocate Abdul Moshabbir Bakul, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Mukhleshur Rahman Ujjal, among others, spoke on the occasion.

DC Ishrat Jahan said, "Our constitution has similarly guaranteed the rights of people of all classes and professions." It is recognized as a prosperous constitution all over the world, she added.
