Govt compensates 45 more persons for acquiring land in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Nov 15, 2022 (BSS) - The government has given Taka 6.57 crore as compensation to 45 more persons for acquiring their land for various development projects in the city.
 
The government has acquired their lands for implementation of different projects, including BKSP, Police Station Building, Forces Barrack, city road widening, Survey Institute Construction, Buffer Warehouse and water treatment plant.
 
The cheques of compensated money were distributed at a function at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) here yesterday afternoon.
 
DC Abdul Jalil accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shariful Haque and Land Acquisition Officer Shamsul Haque distributed the cheques.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Jalil said the present government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been implementing diversified projects for overall development of the country.
 
The government is very much positive to compensate the people whose lands are acquired for the projects timely, he added.
 
He urged all quarters to extend their wholehearted cooperation for successful implementation of the projects.
 
Earlier, 209 other affected landowners were given Taka 47.17 crore as compensation for the same purposes in six phases.
