JOYPURHAT, Nov 15, 2022 (BSS) - The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) today distributed seeds and fertilizers free of cost as agricultural incentives among 6,230 small and marginal farmers in Sadar upazila here in the current rabi season.

Member of Parliament of Joypurhat-1 constituency Advocate Shamsul Alam Dudu distributed the seeds and fertilizers among the farmers as the chief guest at a function held at the upazila Parishad Auditorium while Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Arafat Hossain was in the chair.

Upazila vice-chairman Ashok Kumar Thakur, agriculture officer Kawsar Rahman, administration and upazila agriculture department officials, public representatives, among others, were present at the function.

The seeds and fertilizers were distributed free of cost as agricultural incentives to increase production of various crops including wheat, maize, mustard, winter onion, mung dal and mushur dal, under the agricultural promotion program in 2022-23 rabi season.

The farmers are very happy to get seeds and fertilizers free of cost as agricultural incentive, DAE official said.
