NARSINGDI, August 6, 2021 (BSS)- A total of 75 have, so far, died of Covid-19 in the district since the pandemic began across the country.

The overall Covid-19 situation continues showing a deteriorating trend despite ongoing lockdown in the six upazilas of the district as the positivity rate is increasing in recent weeks, said Dr Nural Islam ,focal person of Covid-19 and Civil Surgeon of  Narsingdi.

 “The number of fatalities due to the lethal virus is increasing day by day. A total of 75 death cases have, so far, recorded in the district,” he said.

Among the total fatalities, 35 of Sadar upazila, seven of Polash upazila, nine each of Belabo, Shibpur and Raipura upazilas and six of Monohardi upazila.

 Moreover, 65 civid-19 patients are currently undergoing treatment at different dedicated Covid-19 hospitals in the district, the health official added.
