RANGPUR, Dec 9, 2022 (BSS) - Awami League-nominated mayoral candidate in the
Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) Election-2022 Hosne Ara Lutfa Dalia today
announced her 29-point manifesto pledging to ensure planned development as
per a master plan.
After getting her poll symbol 'Boat' today, Dalia, a former Awami League
lawmaker and lawyer by profession, announced her RpCC Election-2022 manifesto
at the office of Rangpur City Awami League in the metropolis.
"If elected as Mayor, a master plan will be prepared to ensure planned
development in Rangpur city. I shall put priority on eliminating water-
logging, unemployment and traffic jams and restoring order on the city
streets and roads," she said.
In her manifesto, Dalia said one-way roads will be built on the raised sides
of the Shyamasundari Canal so that rickshaws and auto-rickshaws could ply on
those roads, also easing traffic jams on the city roads.
"I will try my best to improve schools and colleges being run under the local
government authorities, increase job opportunities for women to reduce
unemployment of male and female youths of the city," she said.
If elected Mayor, Dalia pledged to set up five fire service stations in
Rangpur city, bring ambulances to the community clinics being run by RpCC and
establish more cottage industries for women.
"I was born in Rangpur city and will die in Rangpur where brothers and
sisters whom I address the way everyone knows me very well. I believe Rangpur
people will not make mistakes anymore," she said.
"I believe that Rangpur people will vote for 'Boat' in the RpCC Election-2022
on December 27 next to make the present government of the spirit of
Liberation War victorious and further strengthen the hands of Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina," she said.
Rangpur City Awami League President Safiar Rahman Safi, its General Secretary
Tushar Kanti Mondal, Vice-presidents Md. Abul Kashem, Dilshad Islam Mukul,
Joint General Secretary Nawshad Rashid, Deputy Office Secretary Abu Sadat
Shaon, City Jubo League President Sirajum Manir Basher, its General Secretary
Murad Hossain, General Secretary of the City Mohila Awami League Ishmat Ara
Barna, former President of District Chhatra League Mehedee Hasan Rony, among
other leaders, were present.
