BOGURA, Dec 13, 2022 (BSS) - The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) today distributed seeds and fertilizers free of cost as agricultural incentives among 8,300 small and marginal farmers during the current Rabi season in Sherpur upazila of the district.

Member of Parliament of Bogura-5 (Sherpur-Dhunat) constituency Muktijoddha Alhaj Habibur Rahman distributed the incentives among the farmers at a function as the chief guest with Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sanjida Sultana in the chair.

Upazila Administration and Department of Agriculture Extension jointly organized the distribution function at the conference room of the Upazila Parishad this afternoon.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Farzana Akhter, Upazila Animal Resources Officer Dr. Md. Raihan, officers of DAE Agriculturist Samedul Islam and Abdul Hannan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sherpur Police Station Ataur Rahman Khandkar, among others, spoke.

DAE office sources said, 5-kg of Boro seeds, 10-kg MOP fertilizers and 10-kg DAP fertilizers were given to each farmer.

The seeds and fertilizers were distributed under the agricultural incentive and rehabilitation programme in the current Rabi season with a view to increasing the production of Boro paddy.
