DHAKA, Jan 16, 2025 (BSS)- The eighth round of Bashundhara Group Bangladesh
Premier League football begins tomorrow (Friday) at three separate venues
across the country.
On the day, table topper Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited take Brothers Union
Club at Birshrestha Flight Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj, Bangladesh
Police Football Club meet Chittagong Abahani Limited at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan
Stadium in Mymensingh and Fakirerpool Young Men's Club face Dhaka Wanderers
Club at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur.
All the matches kick off at 2.45 pm.
After the seventh round, Mohammedan stand top of the league table with 21
points from seven matches while Brothers Union stand fourth position in the
league table with 14 points.
Bangladesh Police FC stand seventh position in the league table with seven
points from seven matches while all losers Chittagong Abahani Limited stand
bottom of the table without any point playing the same number of matches.
Dhaka Wanderers Club stand eighth position in the league table with four
points from seven matches while Fakirerpool following them with three points
playing the same number of outings.
Earlier, Mohammedan beat Dhaka Wanderer Club 6-0 and edged past Bashundhara
Kings and Abahani Limited Dhaka by an identical margin of 1-0 goal, defeated
Bangladesh Police Football Club by 3-1 goals, beat Fortis Football Club by 1-
0 goal, thrashed Chittagong Abahani Limited by 5-1 goals and defeated
Rahmatganj by 3-1 goals.
Brothers Union Club earlier beat Bangladesh Police Football Club 2-1, played
1-1 draw with Fortis Football Club, blanked Chittagong Abahani Limited 2-0,
lost to Rahmatganj by 3-1 goals, played out to a 1-1 goal draw with Kings,
blanked Fakirerpool by 3-0 goals and defeated Dhaka Wanderers Club by 4-1
goals.
Bangladesh Police Football Club earlier suffered 2-1 defeat to Brothers Union
Club in their league opening match, beat Fakirerpool by 4-1 goals, blanked
Dhaka Wanderers by 4-0 goals, went down 1-3 goal defeat to Mohammedan,
suffered 2-0 defeat to Abahani Limited, suffered 5-0 defeat to Bashundhara
Kings and played 1-1 draw with Fortis Football Club.
The port city team Chittagong Abahani earlier suffered 0-7 defeat to
Bashundhara Kings, lost their remaining three matches against Rahmatganj
Muslim and Friends Society, Brothers Union Club and Fakirerpool Young Men's
Club by an identical margin of 2-0 goals, suffered 1-0 defeat to Dhaka
Wanderers Club, went down 5-1 defeat to Mohammedan and lost 4-0 to Dhaka
Abahani Limited.
Fakirerpool suffered 2-0 defeat to Abahani Limited Dhaka, lost 4-1 to
Bangladesh Police FC, went down 3-0 to Fortis Football Club, beat Chittagong
Abahani Limited by 2-0 goals, suffered 6-1 defeat to Rahmatganj Muslim and
Friends Society, lost 3-0 to Brothers Union Club and suffered 4-1 defeat to
holders Bashundhara Kings.
Dhaka Wanderers Club earlier suffered 6-0 defeat to Mohammedan in their
league opening match, conceded 1-0 defeat to Abahani Limited Dhaka and
suffered 4-0 defeat to Bangladesh Police Football Club, played out to a 1-1
goal draw with Fortis Football Club, suffered 1-0 defeat to Dhaka Wanderers
Club, lost 6-1 to Rahmatganj and conceded 4-1 defeat to Brothers Union.
In the remaining eighth round matches on the following day (Saturday),
Abahani Limited Dhaka will play against Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society
at Munshiganj Stadium while holders Bashundhara Kings meet Fortis Football
Club at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital.
