RANGPUR, Jan 29, 2025 (BSS) - Upholding the spirit of the July mass uprising
that has created a unique opportunity to restructure society, the youth will
build a prosperous Bangladesh free from discrimination to glorify their
supreme sacrifice.
The observation came today at a discussion titled ''In the joy of victory, in
the enthusiasm of youth' organised by the District Information Office at
Gajoghontha School and College premises in Gangachara upazila here today.
The discussion was arranged with the theme 'Let's change the country, change
the world', marking the Youth Festival 2025 with the aim of building a new
prosperous Bangladesh, free from all sorts of discrimination and injustice.
Gangachara Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmud Hasan Mridha attended the event as
the chief guest with Assistant Director of the District Information Office Md
Alamgir Kabir in the chair.
Acting Principal of Gajoghontha School and College Md Abdul Khaleque, its
Assistant Headmaster Md Akhteruzzaman and senior journalist Md Mamun Islam
addressed the discussion as special guests.
Moderated by Assistant Information Officer of the District Information Office
Tania Taznin Memi, 350 male and female students attended the event.
In his welcome address, Alamgir Kabir said that the nation is going to build
a youth-driven egalitarian society free from all forms of discrimination and
exploitation to ensure equal rights for all citizens.
The speakers discussed the post-independence history and the reasons why the
aspirations of the people are not fulfilled even after 54 years of
independence and the rise of deprivation, culture of corruption,
dictatorship, fascism and hooliganism.
The chief guest said the Youth Festival-2025 has been organized at the
divisional, district, upazila and all levels in memory of the martyrs in the
July uprising to unite the youth and awaken a sense of values, love and
collective progress among them.
The youth should remain united in the spirit of the war of liberation and the
July uprising to build a developed, modern and prosperous Bangladesh free
from all forms of exploitation, corruption and discrimination.
The youth are the guides of the future. For this, the youth should be made
interested in technical education and information and communication
technology and participate in nation-building activities unitedly.
He hoped that the Youth Festival 2025 will establish national unity among the
youth, develop their creativity and innovative power, promote social and
cultural values, and increase environmental awareness and responsibility.
