DHAKA, Feb 5, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Ambassador to Yangon, Dr. M. Monwar Hossain, said that youth embody the spirit of building a new future with energy, passion, and entrepreneurship, as they are the beacon of change around the world.

He said this while addressing the Youth Festival-2025 held recently. Bangladesh Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar organized the event.

The program of the day included fun games, highlighting various aspects of Bangladesh, displaying Bangladeshi jute and leather products, cultural performances, henna drawing, pottery painting, traditional costumes put on, screening of video documentaries, and tasting a wide range of Bangladeshi cuisine.

Young people from the local universities, cultural and social organizations, community of Bangladeshis, and family of embassy officials and employees attended the program.

Ambassador Dr. Hossain, at the beginning of his speech, paid tribute to the martyrs of the July-August uprising.

Highlighting the commonalities between Bangladesh and Myanmar, including attire, culture, language, and cuisine, the ambassador said that these similarities can work as a bridge between the two neighboring countries.

Focusing attention on the motto of the program, which is 'Engaging Youth, Connecting Future,' Dr. Hossain said, "The youths are the best ambassadors of our respective countries to strengthen people-to-people ties."

A number of stalls portraying Bangladeshi heritage sites, touristic places, colorful potteries, jute and jute products, leather products, ceramics, and exportable apparel were displayed.

Bangladeshi Jamdani sarees and Punjabi were kept in the attire try-on booth to show our rich apparel legacy.

In the henna corner, Myanmar girls painted their hands in colorful traditional Bangladeshi designs.

In the cultural segment, Myanmar youths performed graceful dance performances with Bangladeshi and Burmese songs.
