RANGPUR, Feb 10, 2025 (BSS) - Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam today said the young generation is the asset of our country and they are the country's future.
“Only their innovative thinking, creativity and indomitable strength can fulfill the dream of a new Bangladesh,” he said.
The Divisional Commissioner said this while speaking as the chief guest at a workshop titled 'Future Bangladesh through the Thoughts of Youth' held at the Shilpokola Academy Auditorium here today.
The workshop was organized by the Rangpur Divisional Committee on the theme of 'Come to Change the Country, Change the World' marking the Youth Festival 2025 to build a new Bangladesh.
Earlier, he inaugurated the workshop by releasing balloons on the District Shilpokola Academy premises in the city. The workshop was presided over by Rangpur Divisional Local Government Division Director Md Abu Jafar.
Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Md Ashraful Islam, Rangpur Range Additional DIG Rezaul Haque Khan, Local Government and Engineering Department Additional Chief Engineer Md Manjurul Islam, Rangpur Government College Principal Professor Shamima Akhtar, Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal and Rangpur Metropolitan Committee Convener of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Imtiaz Ahmed Imti were present at the event as special guests.
The chief guest said that the history of Bangladesh testifies that the youth have always been the pioneers of big changes. “From the language movement to the liberation war and the anti-discrimination student movement and the recent development journey, the role of the youth was unforgettable,” he said.
He said that 'Youth Festival 2025' is a platform for the youth, where they can express their talent and skills. This initiative will create new enthusiasm among the youth. It will also awaken leadership qualities in them and inspire them to actively participate in the development of society.
He urged the youth to enrich themselves with technological knowledge and take the country forward.
Government officials, teachers and students, youth and journalists were present at the workshop.
