UNITED NATIONS, United States, Oct 18, 2023 (BSS/AFP) - The United Nations Security Council on Wednesday rejected a resolution condemning "the heinous terrorist attacks by Hamas" on Israel.

Twelve out of 15 Council members voted in favor of the resolution put forward by Brazil, while Russia and the United Kingdom abstained.
The United States, one of the body's five permanent members, voted against, which was enough to reject the measure.
