BRUSSELS, Feb 12, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - "NATO cannot be an alliance a la carte,"

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said Monday after Donald Trump
downplayed his commitment to the bloc's security umbrella in Europe if he
becomes US president again.

"Let's be serious," Borrell said as he attended a meeting of EU ministers in
Brussels. NATO "cannot be a military alliance that works depending on the
humour of the president of the US" day-to-day, he said.
