KABUL, Mar 25, 2024 (BSS/Xinhua) - Three people died and four others sustained injuries in a road crash in northern Afghanistan's Jawzjan province, state-run Bakhtar News Agency has reported.
The accident occurred after two vehicles collided in Faizabad district along the highway linking Jawzjan with neighboring Balkh province at around 6 p.m. on Sunday, local police said.
Reckless driving on congested roads and lack of traffic signs on dilapidated highways, according to Afghans, often claim the lives of travelers in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, more than 1,600 people, according to the General Directorate of Traffic Police of the country, have been killed and over 4,000 others were injured following road accidents in Afghanistan over the past 11 months.
