2 killed in central Mongolia bus-truck crash

ULAN BATOR, March 29,2024 (BSS/XINHUA) – Two people were killed, and 18 others seriously injured in a bus-truck crash on Friday morning in central Mongolia, said the country's National Emergency Management Agency.

 
The accident occurred when a passenger bus crashed into a truck on a paved road in the Tuv province, and the injured people were hospitalized, the agency said in a statement.
 
The decedents were the bus driver aged 36 and his assistant aged 44. Rescuers and doctors have rushed to the province to bring seriously injured ones to the capital city of Ulan Bator, said the statement.
 
The bus, en route from Ulan Bator to the Umnugovi province, had onboard 38 passengers, mostly mine workers. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
