VARANASI, India, May 14, 2024 (BSS/AFP) - Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday filed his nomination to recontest the parliamentary seat for the Hindu holy city of Varanasi in India's ongoing general election, a live broadcast showed.

Modi, who has represented Varanasi since he was swept to office a decade ago, arrived at a government building and handed over his candidacy paperwork, the footage showed, as hundreds of supporters waited outside.
