BRUSSELS, Belgium, Jan 31, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - The EU's top diplomat said on Friday the
bloc has deployed a monitoring mission at the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and
Egypt, which looked set to reopen following a truce agreement between Israel and Hamas.

"The EU's civilian border mission deploys today to the Rafah Crossing at the request of the
Palestinians and the Israelis," Kaja Kallas wrote on X. "It will support Palestinian border
personnel and allow the transfer of individuals out of Gaza, including those who need
medical care."
