QUETTA, Pakistan, Feb 14, 2025 (BSS/AFP) - Ten labourers were killed on Friday when their vehicle was hit by a blast from an improvised explosive device (IED) in southwest Pakistan, an offical said.
"Ten mine workers were killed in an attack in Harnai district," Shahzad Zahri, a senior government official told AFP.
The labourers were travelling "from the work site to the market for shopping as their car came under attack," Saleem Tareen, another senir government official in the same district told AFP, adding that it was "an IED blast".
"We are investigating the attack."
Harnai is a district over 160 kilometres (104 miles) from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province in southwestern Pakistan.
No group has claimed the attack. However, the Baloch Liberation Army frequently claims deadly attacks against security forces or Pakistanis from other provinces, notably Punjabis in Balochistan.
