CAIRO, March 9, 2025 (BSS/TASS) - Representatives of Hamas held direct talks with US representatives in Doha before the end of the first phase of the Gaza Strip ceasefire agreement, press secretary of the Hamas Politburo Taher Al-Nunu said.

"We held several meetings with US officials in Doha. It took place before the end of the first phase of the Agreement on Gaza," Al-Nunu said in an interview with Al Qahera Al Ekhbariya television.

The spokesperson did not give any details about persons attending talks in Qatar from US side or the time when the consultations had started.

The movement "does not see a problem" in meeting with US negotiators because it "understands that Washington can bring pressure on Israel," Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem noted.
