Special allocation of Tk 100cr proposed to conduct adaptation activities 

SANGSAD BHABAN, June 6, 2024 (BSS)-The government has allocated Taka 100 crore in the proposed budget for the fiscal of 2024-25 to carry out adaptation activities aiming to cope with the adverse impacts of climate change.
 
Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali proposed the allocation while placing the budget for the fiscal of 2024-25 in the House here today.

In his budget speech, Mahmood Ali said adaptation and mitigation activities to face climate change risks are being given importance in all the development plans of the government.
 
Mentioning that Bangladesh is one of the most vulnerable countries regarding climate change, he said considering the depth and extent of these impacts, the government is taking all the necessary steps to increase the capacity of adaptation to climate change and reduce the impacts. 

To speed up activities in this regard, the finance minister said he proposed a special allocation of Taka 100 crore in this year’s budget.
