DHAKA, Dec 26, 2022 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) will distribute nomination forms from Wednesday for by-elections to six Jatiya Sangsad (JS) seats fell vacant following the BNP lawmakers' resignation from the post recently.
The ruling party today asked the party's nomination aspirants to collect nomination forms from December 28 to 31 between 10.30 am and 4.30 pm every day from AL President's Dhanmondi political office, said an AL press release here.
The aspirants have been asked not to make any crowd while collecting and submitting the nomination forms considering the health guidelines.
Nomination seekers will have to bring a photocopy of their national identity cards for collecting the forms and submit those by 5 pm on December 31.
Earlier, the Election Commission (EC) declared the election schedule to hold the by-polls to six vacant constituencies -- Chapainawabganj-2, Chapainawabganj-3, Bogura-4, Bogura-6, Thakurgaon-3 and Brahmanbaria-2-on February 1 next.
According to the schedule, the aspirants will be able to submit the nomination forms to the EC by January 5 while the scrutiny of the papers will be held on January 8.
The last date for withdrawing candidature is January 15.
