Seminar on Bangladesh development agenda, challenges held

DHAKA, Jan 19, 2023 (BSS) - A seminar on Bangladesh Development Agenda and challenges was held today at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) organized by the Governance Innovation Unit.

 The seminar was arranged as a part of the memorandum of understanding signed between the ASH Centre for Democratic Governance and Innovation of Harvard Kennedy School and the Governance Innovation Unit (GIU), PMO for the Capacity Development of Bangladesh Civil service, according to the Prime Minister's Press Wing.

 Prime Minister's International Relation Affairs Adviser Professor Dr. Gowher Rizvi attended the seminar as chief guest, with GIU Director General Dr. Mohammad Abdul Latif in the chair. 

Distinguished faculty members from ASH Centre for Democratic Governance, Harvard University, delivered their speech on the topics dubbed Creating Public value and Public administration, Administrative reforms, Cost of Climate change -disaster response and Energy transitions. 

 Faculty members from different public and private universities including University of Dhaka, South Asian Institute of Policy and Governance of North South University, BRAC Institute of Governance and Development, Centre for Energy Research of United International University and researchers from Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies and Bangladesh Institute of Governance and Management-were took part in the discussion.
 
 Officials from the PMO, Ministry of Public Administration, Ministry of Commerce and Finance Division also participated in the seminar along with faculty members from Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre, Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy and Institute of Public Finance.

 The participants and the guests shared their valuable experiences and discussed on critical issues regarding the upcoming future development agenda of Bangladesh.
