Diabetic Somiti leaders meet PM

DHAKA, Feb 14, 2023 (BSS) - A delegation of Bangladesh Diabetic Somiti (BADAS) today called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabhaban here.

The delegation included BADAS President National Professor A K Azad Khan, Vice-President Dr Sarwar Ali, Secretary General Md Sayef Uddin, Joint Secretary General Professor Rashid-E-Mahbub and National Council Member National Professor Dr Mahmud Hasan, Prime Minister's Assistant Press Secretary MM Emrul Kayas told BSS.

The BADAS leaders, on behalf of their association, congratulated the Prime Minister as she has been made Global Ambassador of Diabetes recently by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF).

They told the Prime Minister that if the BADAS gets the opportunity, it can play a role in creating international quality doctors and nurses, and can generate employment opportunities for them in foreign countries.

They also apprised the Premier of the BADAS's online healthcare program and launching of 300 digital healthcare centers with the help of the government as well as an initiative of linking up those centres with government's community health centres.

In this connection, the Prime Minister assured them that the concerned ministries of the government will provide assistance to them.

Prime Minister's Personal Physician Professor Dr A B M Abdullah was present.
